Firestations are a London-based five-piece whose richly imaginative songwriting drifts effortlessly between dream-pop, harmony-laden psychedelia, alt-country, shoegaze and adventurous art-rock. Led by songwriter Mike Cranny alongside Laura Copsey, Martin Thompson, Tom Hargreaves and Neil Walsh, the band have spent over a decade quietly building one of the UK's most inventive catalogues, balancing melodic immediacy with songs that explore memory, identity, politics and the strange emotional landscapes that sit just beneath everyday life. Since joining Lost Map with 2018's The Year Dot, they've continued to reinvent themselves through the collage-like experimentation of Dream Home, the ambitious Automatic Tendencies EP series, the expansive Thick Terrain, and the stripped-back, sea-soaked intimacy of 2025's Many White Horses.

Their fifth album International Dust marks a return to the full band's collaborative spirit, resulting in their most immersive and ambitious work to date. Recorded live at Otterhead Studios and shaped collectively through months of rehearsal, the album brings together shimmering dream-pop, hypnotic rhythms, alt-country textures and bursts of electronica, enriched by flute, flugelhorn, viola, piano and even the occasional tenor saxophone. Equal parts playful and profound, Firestations continue to make music that rewards close listening—emotionally resonant, endlessly inventive and driven by a genuine love of collective creativity.
