HOWLIN' FLING - JULY 1st & 2nd 2016 - ISLE OF EIGG!
Tickets on sale Wednesday 10th February, 12noon
Hullo. The Pictish Trail here. As that big four-eyed Viking sea monster above rightly says, Lost Map Records will be hosting a Howlin’ Fling! festival this summer over the weekend of July 1st & 2nd on my home patch, the remote Scottish isle of Eigg. Hooooooray!
Regular listeners to my irregular audio-blog will know that I've had a pretty eventful year. It’s been mind-blowing, and overwhelming. But exhausting, too. So, to make things a bit easier on my already strained organs, we’ll be throwing a more intimate - if no less fun - party in 2016, ahead of a fatter, plumper, juicier showstopper in 2017.
Live music will kick off on the evening of Friday July 1 and carry on into the wee small hours. After you've all had a good sleep (or more likely not) followed by a hangover-busting morning dip in the sea if you're feeling tough enough, we'll start up again throughout the day on Saturday July 2 before carrying on into the evening and the wee small hours once more. Everything will take place in and around the Eigg Ceilidh Hall.
We’ll be chartering ferries to and from the island over the weekend, details of which will be given to lucky ticket-holders in due course. The süper-secret line-up will be revealed at a later date. As always, you can expect great music, stunning scenery, the best people you will meet in your life, a nice bit of brown booze, and maybe even a dolphin on the way over. Oh, what a time to be alive.
Our previous events on Eigg have included performances from the likes of Django Django, Steve Mason, Beth Orton, Jon Hopkins, Jens Lekman, Nathan Fake, Alexis Taylor, Twilight Sad, Luke Abbott, Cate Le Bon, Kan, Sweet Baboo, Euros Childs, François & The Atlas Mountains, Daimh and Kathryn Joseph... as well as the entire Lost Map collective. But the music is only half of it, really.
As it’s a more compact event, tickets for this year’s Howlin’ Fling! will be very, very limited (as well as considerably cheaper than in previous years). We’re just letting you know the dates for now, so that you can get yourself all nice and primed.
Tickets for Howlin’ Fling! 2016 will go on sale at midday on Wednesday February 10th via lostmap.com, priced £110 each. Ticket price includes camping and ferry. TICKETS ARE FOR OVER-18's ONLY.
