HOWLIN' FLING - JULY 28th & 29th 2017 - ISLE OF EIGG!
TICKETS ON SALE SATURDAY 25th FEBRUARY, 12NOON
Lost Map presents another HOWLIN’ FLING!, taking place on the Hebridean Isle of Eigg on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th July 2017.
Hi, Pictish Trail, here. Yup, it’s true. Our biennial event has mutated into an annual one. Well, for this year, at least. With the isle of Eigg celebrating its 20th anniversary of righteous community ownership, we thought we’d extend the conga-line. Since our very first bash in 2010 (entitled Away Game), Howlin’ Fling 2017 will be our fifth event on the isle, and we’re very excited. We want to party with you.
TICKETS FOR HOWLIN’ FLING! 2017 WILL GO ON SALE AT MIDDAY ON SATURDAY FEBRUARY 25th VIA LOSTMAP.COM, PRICED £145 EACH. TICKET PRICE INCLUDES CAMPING AND FERRY CROSSING. TICKETS ARE FOR OVER-18'S ONLY.
What’s happening at Howlin’ Fling? Well … there’ll be live music and DJs on the Friday evening, going into the wee hours … and then the fun will resume with music all-day-into-night on Saturday, taking place in and around the Eigg Ceilidh Hall. For those able to stick around on the Sunday, we’ll hang out, maybe go on a big walk, and sing some songs together.
We’ll be chartering ferries to the island on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th July … and ferries back home on Sunday 30th and Monday 31st July. Ticket-holders will be given info on how to book their ferry in due course.
You know the drill by now. We’re not going to reveal the line-up until a much later date, and after all the tickets have sold out. You can expect appearances from acts across the Lost Map roster, as well as some very special guests. To give you an inkling … previous Fling’s have included guest performances from the likes of Jon Hopkins, Django Django, Steve Mason, Beth Orton, François & The Atlas Mountains, Jens Lekman, Blanck Mass, Bill Ryder Jones, British Sea Power, Slow Club, Nathan Fake, Jane Weaver, Alexis Taylor, Twilight Sad, Luke Abbott, Cate Le Bon, Gruff Rhys, Gwenno, Kan, Sweet Baboo, Euros Childs, Daimh, RM Hubbert and Kathryn Joseph, among many others. Oooft!
The real star of the show is the island, though. I’m privileged to call Eigg my home, it’s such a stunningly beautiful place. Here are some photos from last year’s event, courtesy of Beth Chalmers and Jassy Earl.
