Over the past wee while we’ve been drip-feeding you the music of our favourite new act, Tuff Love. With the muscular ‘Poncho’, the band flexed and clenched their musical glutes; and with ‘Sweet Discontent’ Julie, Suse and Michael proved they can provide sonic hugs like no other band today.
Well, to further whet your whistle, YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO THEIR NEW SONG, ‘FLAMINGO’, RIGHT NOW. It’s a heart-racing 2minutes and 20 seconds of pop perfection, the kind of tune that makes you scrunch your eyes and beam a smile like you're facing the sun. Go ahead - stream it at you leisure. Turn it up loud, even. Open the windows. Whack on the factor 50. Pretend you’re drinking a BuckyPimms cocktail in a park. Summer has arrived early!
(Oooh … keep your eyes peeled for a video of the song, directed by Josie Long and Douglas King! Coming verrrry soon!)
The track is taken from their debut, JUNK EP, which is being launched THIS FRIDAY (May 2nd) with a special party at the Old Hairdressers in Glasgow. Tuff Love will be performing live, of course - and their raucous heroes, Trash Kit, will also play. As if that wasn’t enough to incite dancefloor pandemonium, I’ll be engaging in a Pictish Trail DJ battle with my good ol’ comedy chum, Josie Long. Are you tuff enuff to handle such a bill? It’s only £6 entry (with no postage to pay!), and everyone that attends will receive a FREE vinyl copy of the Junk EP on their way out.

Here are some nice things that folk are saying about it ...
“Great college rock. It builds slowly, with jangly guitars beneath Julie Eisenstein’s dead-pan Kim Deal-esque vocals, before the fuzzy chorus drops. They look set to have a bright summer” NME
“A band to fall in love with. Glaswegian trio grab C86 fuzz pop by the scruff of the neck and give it a damn good ruffing up round the back of the sweet shop. Delicious”. The Guardian
"Remember the first time you heard Franz Ferdinand or Glasvegas? Well, we reckon Tuff Love will be your new favourite band. ‘Flamingo' is Jesus and Mary Chain if they corrupted the Monkees.” Daily Record
"Deranged, stuttering alt rock with a heart of gold” Clash
“Perfect pop music” Vic Galloway, BBC Radio Scotland
"This is your next great US college rock inspired band. Catchy three chord pop that goes from clean jangling guitars to thick fuzz over a driving bass.” This Is Fake DIY
"Over five low-slung, guitar-crunching tracks, the trio channel a fog of 80s and 90s alterna-indie icons, from Sonic Youth to Pavement and Throwing Muses” The List
“Tuff Love tick all the boxes of dream Scottish pop” – I HEART MAGAZINE (France)
“Brilliantly infectious” GoldFlakePaint
