eagleowl's stunning debut album this silent year just done got a full-release on Lost Map Records, and is now available to buy from the webshop and at shows in schnazzy CD digi-pack (there are still a few vinyl copies left too). We've also just put out a super-limited-edition Lost Cat split cassette EP - featuring eagleowl on one side and their Canadian compatriot in plaintive atmospheric indie Woodpigeon on the other. The tape is available only at gigs and select independent record stores - it's up to you to find 'em.
Here's a message from Bartholomew Owl, with all the news ...

HELLO EVERYONE.
I trust you are all well.
Lovely weather, eh?
Sorry it's been a while. After the release of 'this silent year' we've, erm, had a bit of a silent year. However, we've not been resting on our laurels. Oh Lordy, no. For one thing, I'm not entirely sure what laurels are. And for another, they don't sound like a particularly comfortable thing to rest on. We've mostly been resting in the comfort of our respective homes. Though once I had an afternoon nap in Princes Street gardens. It was pretty glorious. (Have I mentioned the weather?)
Anyway, that's not exactly what I wanted to tell you all about. Though I am glad you brought it up. Here's the news. We have A NEW ALBUM OUT! Of sorts. Well it's a mini-album. A split mini-album. With Woodpigeon. On HOT PINK CASSETTE! A C-40. Actually, come to think of it, it's probably longer than our actual album.
It's got new versions and remixes and exclusive tracks. Its even got a download code, if you foolishly threw out your old cassette deck thinking that CD was the future. (How silly do you feel now, eh?)
Mark from Woodpigeon has been a big part of the eagleowl story from day one, so it's been really nice to finally do a release together. (In the movie version of 'the eagleowl story', he'll probably be played by a heavily bearded Michael Fassbender.)
To celebrate, we're playing some shows in Glasgow and Edinburgh this weekend - Saturday evening at The Old Hairdresser's, and Sunday afternoon fun time matinee show at Leith Docker's Club (all ages/no holds barred). On Monday we're heading down to Manchester for a joint session on Marc Riley's BBC 6 show. Then next weekend we'll be performing at Howlin' Fling. We'll be road testing some new songs and collaborating on some Woodpigeon tracks.
Also, for all you CD fans, don't worry! We've got you covered. We'll also have copies of the fancy new digipack Lost Map release 'this silent year'. It looks pretty sweet.
Hopefully see you at some or all of these shows, or something.
Ciao,
Bart x
