Julie and Suse – AKA Glasgow’s finest DIY scuzz-pop duo Tuff Love – kick-start 2015 with their most insistent single to date. 'That's Right' is two minutes and 23 seconds of blistering power-chord perfection, with the distortion pedal cranked all the way up, and the band’s signature swoon-inducing harmonies floating over the top. The song is a soaring adrenalin shot themed around instructions on a box of pain killers. Like it’s accompanying VHS-flavoured video (above), the song was crafted within the confines of Suse’s flat.
Following the success of their previous single, 'Slammer' – which made the BBC 6 Music B-list – 'That's Right' is yet another shining example of Tuff Love's innate knack for self-produced pop. Both songs feature on the band’s forthcoming Dross EP, which will we're releasing on 10” pink vinyl (w/ download code) on February 9, 2015. The band are leaving the bedroom, and heading out on the road with a clutch of live shows over the next month - see the bottom of the page for listings ...
The band have also just announced the support for their EP launch at the Shacklewell Arms in London on the 19th February. Tuff Love have handpicked the incredible LAZY DAY, the work of Tilly Scantlebury and pals - hypnotic guitar-driven dream-pop, that we've fallen head over heels in love with at Lost Map HQ. We'll have some more exciting news on Lazy Day soon ... but for the time being, have a listen their songs on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/lazy-day
