HULLO. Pictish Trail, here.
The stars have aligned, the planets are in orbit, and your anus is in retrograde.
As you may already know, i'm releasing my new album - Future Echoes - next month, and to celebrate i'm holding an all-day cosmic party at Leith Theatre, in Leith, Edinburgh, on Saturday October 1st.
I'll be doing a full-on live set with my band, replete with jet-packs and space-boots, playing all the new songs and some golden oldies. But I'm not playing all day. Oh no. I've got some very special guests joining us for the party. In fact, I can announce the first space-wave of acts who are playing, right now ...

The first guests to be announced are … THE COMET IS COMING. Featuring members of Sun Ra Arkestra and Soccer96, their album, Channel The Spirits, is my favourite album of the year so far, hands down. A blistering “intergalactic mash-up” of sound, where gut-squelching undulating waves of electronic noise collide with spaced-out psych-jazz, over propulsive rhythms that connect the constellations of Afrobeat and Krautrock. It’s no surprise they’ve been nominated for this year’s Mercury Prize. This album travels lightyears beyond Mercury, and into the next galaxy. So chuffed to have them play at our event, it’s going to be incredible. Read this great article in the Guardian about them, here.
Fresh from the launch of their interstellar new album, Faulty Inner Dialogue, our very own KID CANAVERAL will crash land into Leith, and repeatedly probe you with their rocket-fuelled indie ear-gasm. You will have no choice but to surrender.
Taking one small step for man, and one giant dram for mankind, the sonorous RICK REDBEARD - yes, he of The Phantom Band - will also be joining us on our astral expedition. His new country-tinged album Awake Unto is the perfect soundtrack for homesick travellers, sitting in their tin-cans, dreaming of Back To The Future III.
We have been receiving new transmissions from the celestial alien, MONOGANON, who is orbiting Pictish Trail across his UK tour in October. For this special show, his audio-visual electro-magnetic performance will take place inside a hidden crater ...
Really excited for all of this … and there’s so much more to come! Our current batch of advance tickets are now £20, and are available only from the Lost Map webshop. Once they run out, the advance price will go up to £22, and they will be £25 on the door … so be sure and grab yours now!
