“Now is this man a genius? Alabaster dePlume, which is the nom de plume of Angus Fairburn, spoken word artist, saxophonist and someone who clearly knows how to arrange music in a very tantalising fashion. Love it, it’s a new album jam packed with invention”
VERITY SHARP, LATE JUNCTION, BBC RADIO 3
"If anyone can reclaim "whimsical" for the forces of good, it's Angus Fairbairn. The Manchester-raised, London-based Fairbairn, who performs as Alabaster DePlume, lands acrobatically between Devendra Banhart, Donovan and The Mersey Poets, cosmic dreaminess cut with wry exasperations. A precious little addition to music's cabinet of curiosities"
VICTORIA SEGAL, Q MAGAZINE
“Imploring opener Is It Enough sets out the shifting moods of sax-poet Angus Fairbairn's new LP: skronk, ecstasy and keen-eyed observations”
JENNY BULLEY, MOJO MAGAZINE
ALABASTER dePLUME - UPCOMING LIVE DATES
Alabaster is without a doubt one of the most captivating live performers we've ever experienced, and so we thoroughly recommend catching him on tour. He's celebrating the release with a very special show on Thursday 31st May 2018 at the Total Refreshment Centre in Stoke Newington, where The Corner Of A Sphere was recorded - and will be accompanied by a large cast of players who helped make the album, including Lost Map's very own Rozi Plain and Ed Dowie. It looks set to be a very busy night, so buying tickets in advance is recommended!
