ARE YOU SCARED TO GET HAPPY (SPENDY)?
GOODNESS KNOWS we could all do with a bit more happiness in our lives right now – *washes hands for millionth time today* – which is one reason among many why we are deee-lited to announce the release of Happy Spendy's sensational debut compilation album of feelgood sad songs You're Doing Okay. We are doing okay you know. We are. We are, we're fine, really. Stop asking. So what if we haven't showered in – *counts days on fingers, loses count* – ages? So what if we've been sitting in alone with the curtains drawn and the heating on full blast, watching old episodes of Takeshi's Castle, our only human contact being with Uber Eats drivers and chat sex bots? So what? Look: CLEAN HANDS.
But enough about us and more about Happy Spendy, the latest addition to the Lost Map family. You’re Doing Okay will be released on 12” vinyl and via digital services on June 5, 2020, and gathers together all three of the Kleenex-slaying synth-pop dreamboats' EPs released between 2017-2020 in one place for the first time. It’s a collection of songs which act almost like a diary for singer and songwriter Eimear Coyle, marking milestones in grief and falling in love. To announce the album, a new video for the short'n'sweet ‘ Fresh Air’ is available to watch and share now. There's a launch party at the Glad Cafe in Glasgow on Saturday, May 30. We'll be there, if we can find a pair of trousers that still fits come spring. And with that, we're off back to Craig Charles and an Errol's Hot Pizza. Some call it "self-isolating", we call it "endless weekend".
HAPPY SPENDY LIVE:
SAT, MAY 30 @ THE GLAD CAFE, GLASGOW [TICKETS]

PICTISH TRAIL ON THE IDIOT BOX
If you thought your TV was wholly the preserve of "real" celebrities like Dot Cotton, Michael Biehn, Harold/Madge ( Neighbours), Hanson, Geoff Capes Strongman and "Bono", then think again. Via the BBC iPlayer now, you can watch a whole 29 minutes of Pictish Trail live on the Quay Sessions. Yes, that's the full Pictish band – including smilin' Guto Pryce, cruisin' Susan Bear, honkin' Joe Cormack and, on drums, Iain (just Iain) – LIVE on the idiot box, for almost a full half-hour of powerful sounds and budget visuals. Do not adjust your set. Do adjust your trousers, because we can see your crack.
If you're enamored by all of that – and how could you not be, it's really very good – then treat yourself to a ticket for a show on Pictish's upcoming UK tour, which absolutely, categorically, unequivocally WILL GO AHEAD NO MATTER WHAT* (*correct at time of writing). Into the bargain you'll be treated to a performance by another of Lost Map's hottest beat combos in Savage Mansion. Should these shows not go ahead, for whatever freakish reason, and we honestly cannot think of one (*turns off news, smashes in tele with a hammer*), then why not buy a copy of both Pictish Trail's and Savage Mansion's new albums? Or ten. Or a hundred. Or all of them. We're not panicking, you're panicking

MARCH POSTMAP CLUB TRIPLE-BANGER:
CLÉMENTINE MARCH + SAVAGE MANSION + ???!
SIGN UP NOW
Be it bones in the human ear, lady-ish looking young men in the band Hanson, coco-chocolate fingers in a Bounty Trio or testicles in a ballsack, the best things in life always come in threes. Which is why we're excited to bring you not your customary two, but this month, three – or as they say in Fife, "shree" – PostMap Club postcards. You're welcome! Three balls is normal in't it btw?
1) Clémentine March – ‘Late In The Evening’ (b/w 'Voyager Sans Passer’)
"It relates to my first visit ever to London six years ago," Clémentine explains, "where I found myself almost alone in Hyde Park, while the ‘Winter Wonderland’ fair was taking place, but it was too early and no one was there. The sky was dark already, and the neon arcade lights and disco music were blasting all over the place... for me only! An instant nostalgic cheesy moment."
2) Savage Mansion – 'Weird Country'
"I wanted something like a runaway train, with drums that wouldn’t sound out of place on QOTSA’s Songs For The Deaf," says Craig. "The lyrics are a stream of consciousness ramble. It’s definitely the angriest song on the album, for many reasons. A lot of personal experiences found their way into it, encounters with football hooligans, bitter restaurateurs."
3) ???!
A mystery release, by a mysterious new artist. You'll have to sign up to find out more. It's not Hanson, sorry.
