We've waited a long, long time to say this, we feel like we've been going on about it forever, finally the moment is here and we are so delighted to at last announce: "THE EXTRACTOR FAN IN THE BATHROOM HAS BEEN FIXED, NO LONGER WILL OUR BODILY ODOURS SHAME US." We're also excited to announce that Callum Easter's exceptional debut album Here Or Nowhere is out now, just in time for, um, Easter? Buy it on vinyl now for JUST £13 (going up to £16 next week FYI so shop quick). We can also-also reveal that Callum Easter is one of the first artists confirmed for this year's Howlin' Fling festival on our salty island home of Eigg (full line-up TBA soon). Easter x Eigg. This stuff just writes itself sometimes, it really does.
Many different people who Know About These Things have said really nice stuff about Here Or Nowhere, including The Skinny magazine who gave the record a big fat ★★★★★ review as well as interviewed Callum, while The Scotsman also ran an interview and gave Callum's album launch show in Leith last weekend a ★★★★ review. Marc Riley had Callum in for a MiNd-BLOwInGLY good session on BBC 6 Music on Monday, and he said nice things too. Basically everyone's been dead nice, which is good because if they weren't then we'd beat them up (this is an empty threat, we're absolute saps).
Callum is doing very many live shows to promote Here Or Nowhere, starting this Saturday, April 13 with a Record Store Day double-banger in Edinburgh – an afternoon set at VoxBox Records, followed by an evening set as part of the Wide Days Festival Takeover at La Belle Angele (info here). Head on down to either/both shows, say nice things, or else Callum will beat you up (he probably could beat you up tbf so consider yourself warned).

AT LAST SOME NEW MUSIC FROM VICTORIA HUME
(AS PART OF APRIL'S POSTMAP CLUB)
It's been more than three years since we last released anything new by Victoria Hume which is so long that we feel like David Caruso in The Last Crusade just thinking about it. Three years! Imagine how many times we've fallen asleep in our clothes in three years? Imagine how many XXL McDonald's meals we've eaten? What have we done with our lives? Disgusting.
But look it's fine because as part of this month's PostMap Club, we've finally, finally got some hot new Hume to drop and let's just say it's been worth the wait (not to mention the weight). 'Suspension' is a beautiful, ethereal, mysterious piece of music which we can't wait for you to hear. It's be backed by an instrumental piece called ' Trial By Winter' which we also can't wait for you to hear. They'll be sent out as a PostMap postcard to members by the end of the month – as the first in what we hope will be a series of PostMap releases by Victoria Hume during 2019. Also included in the PostMap Club package this month is another thrilling new dispatch from Glasgow hot-rock funboys Savage Mansion, more details on that next mailout.
If you have no idea what we're on about when we say "PostMap Club", here's a short explainer as to the benefits of signing-up to our subscription service:
REGULAR BREW
(£3 + postage, per month)
- Postcards (obvs)! At least two collectible PostMap postcards sent to your door at the end of every month – each containing download codes for a mixture of brand new music on Lost Map, alongside a random selection from our archives
- Badge! Plus a new badge for every year of your subscription
- Monthly newsletter! Containing hot goss / farmyard shite
- Discounts! On other Lost Map releases, merchandise and gigs
- Feelgood glow! Help support a plucky young independent record label go about its merry business
GOLD BLEND
(£5 + postage, per month)
- All of the above except with a bigger badge
- Suppose that a Regular Brew member and a Gold Blend member were dining in a branch of popular global burger restaurant chain McDonald's in the 90s. A dubious looking short fat man in stripes and a fedora – let's call him The Hamburglar – swoops and steals the Regular Brew member's McDLT sandwich when he's not looking. Be aware that the Gold Blend member's Crispy Chicken Deluxe remains untouched.
- Extra fries

Running a serious risk of becoming respectable if he carries on behaving like this – and we probably ought to have a word with him about it because respectability is solidly not our vibe – spoken-word maestro and sax god Alabaster dePlume is set to play at your actual Barbican Hall in London this Saturday, April 13, as part of a special Boiler Room x Total Refreshment Centre event titled Dreaming The City (tickets on sale here). "A conceptual night telling the story of a music hub and scene in east London, as told by some of UK jazz's central figures and rapidly rising stars," they say. Our Alabaster will be performing his new collaboration Calabashed together with Joshua Idehen (of Benin City and Sons of Kemet). Also appearing are the likes of Cassie Kinoshi and her Seed Ensemble, Kwake Bass, Orphy Robinson, Tom Skinner's Wildflower and Lost Map alumnus Rozi Plain. Holy smokes!
In other Alabaster dePlume related news, you can now help contribute directly to his epic odyssey through space, time and jazz through his Patreon account, in exchange for exclusive new music and merch, input into his future career moves and regular communications. On which note, Alabaster has asked us to convey to you the following important message: "remind people to be as much themselves as they can," he says, "and thank them for being humans I mean it's quite tricky really, sometimes." Speaking as someone wearing odd socks today, can definitely agree.

STICK THE TV ON, IT'S MARTHA FFION!
We stopped watching TV when Neighbours moved to Channel 5 tbqh, but if there were anything to tempt us to switch on the old "idiot box" ever again, short of Harold Bishop making another comeback, then it would be to watch the wonderful Martha Ffion singing some songs on BBC Alba music show ALT.
