THE POSTMAP CLUB: RELAUNCHED
|
|
- NEW £10 TOP TIER LAUNCHED, INCLUDES V. STYLISH ENAMEL BADGE
- NOW FEATURING SPECIALLY COMMISSIONED EXCLUSIVE CONTENT (REMIXES, SESSIONS, ACCESS TO LIVESTREAMED CONCERTS)
- FIND OUT MORE IN THE NEW LOST MAP PODCAST
Lost Map's PostMap Club was long overdue some TLC, so we put that old clunker up on the ramp, changed its oil, pumped up the tyres, did some other car related stuff (look we don't really know about cars, we don't know why chose this analogy) and are proud to present: the all new and improved PostMap Club. Just like the old PostMap Club, but now with added special commissions, an attendant monthly podcast episode full of talking and other sounds, and a reassuringly expensive £10 top tier of membership. Sign up now and you'll receive fresh and exclusive music through your door from Clémentine March (watch her new video here), Sulka, Kinbote, a brand new and exciting mystery Lost Map signing, some very special Xmas treats from across the Lost Map roster, and more – including access to a Martha Ffion livestream event, info about which follows below. You're welcome!
"Hey look, why would I pay more for something when I don't have to?" we hear you ask regards the new £10 Club Biscuit top tier membership, and while we resent the question, the answer is really quite simple. For one thing you get an objectively lovely enamel pin badge (see image above), which instantly marks you out as one of our most trusted, loyal, dedicated and solvent members, like one of Taylor Swift's Swifties, Justin Bieber's Beliebers, Barry Manilow's Fanilows, or one of those men in robes that used to follow Jesus around all the time (we forget what they were called). Better still you get GOOD FEELS, of course! Some people say you can't put a price on good feels, but we disagree and the price is, in fact, £10. A month. Did we mention the enamel pin badge?
A round-up of the now THREE PostMap Club membership tiers and their respective prices and benefits is as follows:
REGULAR BREW
£3 + postage, per month
- Postcards! At least two collectible PostMap postcards sent to your door at the end of every month – each containing download codes for a mixture of brand new music on Lost Map, alongside a random selection from our archives. When you sign up you'll also receive the previous month's postcards, completely free.
- Badge! Plus a new badge for every year of your subscription.
- Monthly newsletter! Containing hot goss / farmyard shite.
- Discounts! On other Lost Map releases, merchandise, gigs.
- Feelgood glow! Help support an independent record label.
GOLD BLEND
£5 + postage, per month
- All of the above except with a bigger badge.
CLUB BISCUIT
£10 + postage, per month
- All of the above except with an EVEN BIGGER badge.

MARTHA FFION'S CAPTURED ON CASSETTE LIVE SESSION
Three friends, buddies, m8s and compadres, dressed in near-angelic off-white, singing a sweet lament for a long-lost companion in heartbreakingly close harmony – the live session video for Martha Ffion's new single 'Rosaleen' would have had us in floods of tears in any context, much less this pandemic era of distance and disconnection from those we hold dear. And we say that as inherently anti-social people, content to derive most of our appreciation of friends and friendship from VHS marathons of tough-guy buddy cop franchises like Lethal Weapon and Beverly Hills Cop, or that 90s comedy series about all the friends who live in two neighbouring flats in New York who are always solving friend-based problems through the unifying power of being friends. We forget what it was called.
Look, the point is we enjoyed the video and we hope you did too – and if you did (enjoy the video), then there's good news because there is lots more where that came from. Your friend and our friend Martha Ffion AKA Claire – together with her friends, who are also our friends, and thusly now also your friends (we're all friends here), AKA Suse Bear of Good Dog and Pictish Trail band fame and Beth Chalmers of Molly Linen and Savage Mansion fame – all got together in a mildly less socially-distanced age and recorded a whole live session, titled Captured on Cassette, of lovingly re-arranged stripped back songs from Claire's latest album Nights to Forget. It's going to be livestreamed over the internet at precisely 8pm on the evening of Wednesday, November 25 – and you're all invited. If you're a member of the PostMap Club you get to watch for FREE. If you're not you can either a) join the PostMap Club now from only £3 and get access that way, or b) buy a one-off ticket for £5 or, c) that's it, that's the options.

FIRESTATIONS' AUTOMATIC TENDENCIES EP – OUT NOW
Automatic tendencies, we've got a few – be it taking the gherkin out of McDonalds "Big Mac" ™ burgers or laughing a cruel and hearty laugh whenever we hear the stupid music of Sting. Whether or not that has anything to do with the title of London conceptual alt-pop ensemble Firestations' excellent new EP and EP project we honestly can't say – it'd be weird if it did tbqh because we're always very discreet about taking out the gherkin, and surely everybody laughs at Sting? In any event, let us be clear: Automatic Tendencies is the title of the new EP, by Firestations, and it's both a good EP and a good title for an EP.
So good, in fact, that CDR copies have already sold out before we even had a chance to tell you all about them (sorry about that). On the upside, our Bandcamp is stocked with a literally infinite supply of digital copies (buy as many as you like). You'll get another shot at owning some excellent limited-edition Firestations CDRs, replete with hand-made artworks such as zines and chip forks (really), as their Automatic Tendencies EP project continues – with two further installments due over a six-month period, each embracing a mixtape aesthetic with alternative “sunken” versions, covers and remixes of new Firestations material by other artists. Celebrity fans of the band include BBC 6 Music's Marc Riley, who has played their songs – including 'Small Island', the video for which you can watch here – approximately one million times on his show lately. Whether or not this has anything to do with him taking payola in gherkins, we honestly can't say.
