Hurtling on a blighted trajectory through time and space towards the gaping void with nothing but an internet chat bot for guidance and comfort, all hope is lost and meaningless oblivion beckons. But enough about our life, and let's instead discuss the exciting and unusual debut album from Undermedvetenheten (under-med-veten-heten), an immersive new project by Lost Map long-timer John B. McKenna AKA Monoganon. Purveying minimalist synth drones, playful electronics and freestyle penguin honks, the album – out now – provides the soundtrack for a live action role playing game or 'LARP', which comes included with the record. Undermedvetenheten, as the LARP is also called – personally we'd have called it PAT LARP – is a simple science fantasy game for 1-12 players, with a focus on atmosphere, storytelling and cooperation. Hurtling on a blighted trajectory through time and space towards the gaping void with nothing but an internet chat bot for guidance and comfort, all hope is lost and... wait, why does this sound familiar?
We're pressing just 300 copies of the Undermedvetenheten album initially, so this one's süper exclusive. You can optionally buy it as part of a bundle deal together with the Monoganon albums F A M I L Y and Killmens, plus the limited edition collaborative project City Of All Times by Devonanon, on cassette. That's three 12” LPs, a cassette (with download), plus a P̶A̶T̶ LARP, all for just £30 ( PostMap Club members get a further discount). Even if you'd never heard of a LARP until about 30 second ago, that's still a great deal. Need more convincing? Talk to Mima.

PRE-ORDER MARTHA FFION'S NEW ALBUM
NIGHTS TO FORGET
Nights to forget, we've had a few... albeit incontinence pants thankfully seem to have solved the problem. But enough about our bed-wetting and let's instead discuss the unadulterated pleasure that is Claire McKay AKA Martha Ffion's cracking new album. Due for release on August 14 and available to pre-order now on moody blue süper limited-edition vinyl, Nights to Forget is the much-anticipated follow-up to Northern Ireland-born, Glasgow-based Claire's Scottish Album of the Year Award nominated debut Sunday Best, and it finds her pondering on everything from politics, feminism and depression to David Attenborough while channeling her love of artists from St. Vincent and Roisin Murphy to Anderson .Paak and Grimes. You can listen to the v.v good latest single 'Want You To Know' – which is released as part of this month's PostMap Club – via digital services now.
“Most of it was written the summer after Sunday Best came out,” explains Claire, of the story behind Nights to Forget. “It was an uncharacteristically hot summer by Glasgow standards but I spent most of it holed up in my flat on Garageband. When I would venture out for a walk, I kept bumping into my friend, Dave Frazer and we’d end up chatting about music for ages. I told him about the kind of record I wanted to make – something more fresh and modern – and we decided to give it a go together. I wasn’t tied to any label or timeframe, so we ended up gradually rebuilding and reworking my demos over the course of a year. We mainly worked in his flat, after work or on weekends. Everything was given so much breathing space – it was nice to let each song properly develop in its own time rather than having the pressure of studio deadlines. Deciding when to say it was finished was the hard part.”

JUNE POSTMAP CLUB
w/ A.R PINEWOOD, FELL AND MARTHA FFION
A süper-hot threesome featuring at least one non-human entity and all of it cheaply available via mail order. But enough about our sex life, and instead let's be introducing you to the delights winging their way to members of the PostMap Club subscription service in June. A triumphant triumvirate of top tuneage awaits the subscriber this summer month – a wholly holy trinity, a pure no-bad triad, a sh*t hot triptych, call it what you will. We just can't wait to tell you all about it.
*A.R. Pinewood – ‘Hotel’ (w/ exclusive b-side ‘If You’re Lonely’) Lost Map's favourite cyber-cowboy blows his nostalgia chip singing a mournful song about a deserted harbourside hotel.
*Martha Ffion – ‘Want You To Know’ (w/ exclusive B-side TBA) "This chorus had been rumbling about in my brain for about 10 years,” says Claire of a slinky banger worth waiting for.
*Fell – Sides E/F EP (feat. the songs ‘Ida!’ and ’Nearly Here') More sweet psychedelic pop fresh off the production line, as Nic Burrows continues his noble quest to release approx. eleventy million songs in a year. We can't get enough!
