BANDCAMP FRIDAY BONANZA
In the WFH age, no longer do we knock off at four-forty-five on a Friday to rush to the nearest pub and consume exactly seven pints of cider on an empty stomach, then destroy an XXL McDonald's™ in a grotty shop doorway with all the decorum of a caveman hollowing out a brontosaurus before falling asleep at the bus stop. These days it's all couch and scented candles and, *spits*, "wine". But don't worry, because yer old pals Lost Map are here to help you get at a little of that special Friday feeling back. We're harnessing the power of Bandcamp Friday to bring you deals that will shake you harder than the police had to shake you to wake you up that time, your tie stained with ranch sauce, your trousers smelling faintly of secondary pee.
Ladies and gentlemen, this Bandcamp Friday (October 2) – a one-day monthly fee-waiver spesh whereby 100% of revenues go direct to the vendor (i.e. us) with the Absolute Legends™ at Bandcamp forgoing their usual cut – we're offering Probably Our Greatest Selection of Bandcamp Deals, Ever. Or at least Probably Our Greatest Selection of Bandcamp Deals, Ever (Since The Last Bandcamp Friday). They're so, so great, and they include the following:

- KINBOTE DEBUT ALBUM PRE-ORDER! Reserve your copy of Shifting Distance by Lost Map's latest signing (more on him below). Special discount for PostMap Club Members!
- PICTISH TRAIL T-SHIRTS! Beer gut? Overabundant chest hair? Third nipple? Look no further than a useful and moreover stylish limited-edition "torso hider" in a size of your choosing, brought to you by popular Lost Map recording artist Pictish Trail (see hat model).

V I S I T ▲ T I O N S : SERIES 2
FEAT. ROZI PLAIN AND FRIENDS
Whenever one of our Lost Map children fly the nest to seek adventures new in the big wide world, it's with a tear in our eye, pride in our heart and burning resentment buried deep within our soul that we wave them off – looking forward to the day that they might return for a visit, a big sack of dirty washing clutched presumptively under one arm. Our most successful alumni Rozi Plain returned to the isle of Eigg at the start of 2020, accompanied by her frequent collaborators Gerard Black (Babe) and Jamie Whitby-Coles (This Is The Kit), and despite sleeping in until noon most days, plundering all of our food and booze and running up a massive phone bill, we were overjoyed to see her again. We even did her washing.
It was to record a session for Lost Map's residency series V I S I T ▲ T I O N S that Rozi and friends – who go by the snappy collective title of Gerard Black Rozi Plain Jamie Whitby-Coles – flew back to the nest for a week at the start of this year. Ensconced in St Franny's Bothan as the winter winds whipped the windows, the trio made a magic sound as only these three know how. A collection of woozy, groovy instrumentals and songs; dreamy guitars, soft analogue synths, floaty drums and percussion collide, each pal taking a turn on lead vocals. "Disappear in the air, once was there, nothing there".
We're excited to release their EP as the third and final installment of V I S I T ▲ T I O N S series two, on subscription either as a physical package of 3 x 12” vinyl EPs (£45) or a digital package of downloads (£25). Sign up now and you'll also receive series two releases by Arthur King (featuring Grandaddy's Jason Lytle) and Rachel Aggs (from Sacred Paws). You can hear all about Rozi and co's winter Eigg-xperience recording their V I S I T ▲ T I O N S session in the new episode of the Lost Map Podcast, which will be available in all of the usual pod places as of midnight tonight.

SEPTEMBER POSTMAP CLUB FEAT.
ALEXIA AVINA + KINBOTE
We've got two limited-edition CD-R albums left for release in what has been an albums-packed 2020, and we're excited to say that you can get a taster of both of them through the September installment of the PostMap Club – which you'll receive even if you don't manage to sign up in September, i.e. before midnight tonight, because we always supply the previous month's postcards with every new subscription. We are firm believers in second chances.
The first album in question is by Alexia Avina and it's called Unearth, and ahead of its release on October 9, you can drink-in the refreshing sound of the PostMap Club single 'Cups', which includes an exclusive track called ‘What About The Light’. Alexia is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist born and raised in Southeast Asia, previously based in Montreal and now living in rural Massachusetts. Her heavenly music is rooted in ambient, folk and dreampop traditions. We'll be releasing the extremely fine Unearth on limited-edition CDR jointly with Topshelf Records in North America. If you like the sound of 'Cups', there's an even newer, newer single you can hear called ' Horse's Mane', the trippy video visualiser for which you can watch here.
Then there's Kinbote, AKA found-sound sample based electronic glitch-pop producer Matt Gibb. Inspired in part by the book To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf, and featuring drums made from samples of forest leaves and sticks crunching and snapping under feet, 'Hiemalis' – which includes an exclusive cover of Yellow Magic Orchestra member Haruomi Hosono’s ‘Sports Men' – is Matt's contribution to the September PostMap Club set. It's a mere amuse-bouche to the banquet of sound that is his enchanting debut album Shifting Distance, which comes out on December 4. Watch the video for 'Hiemalis' here; pre-order Shifting Distance as of this Friday, which as we may have mentioned, is Bandcamp Friday. Special discount for PostMap Club members!
And there's more! The September PostMap Club set also includes Pictish Trail – Live at Green Man 2020, Johnny's full set recorded on Eigg for Green Man's Field of Streams virtual event. A reminder or the two PostMap Club membership tiers and their respective prices and benefits is as follows:
